Episode #5 featuring Freestyle Legend Shannon

Happy new year to everyone out there, 2010 is officially here! We hope that each and every one of you enjoyed your 2009 and if you didn't think of 2010 as a new year to make right all of your wrongs. We hope that the support that we got from all of you in 2009 will only increase as we move forward into 2010.

Now moving onto business...

Our next episode of What's Poppin' will be featuring freestyle legend, Shannon. Shannon stopped by in Toronto for a performance at Frequency nightclub, and showed some of the new cats how they used to get down in the 1980's.

As you may or may not remember, Shannon burst onto the freestyle music scene in the mid-1980's with the smash hit, "Let the music play" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ5jTAISutM&feature=related) and that track hasn't stopped rocking since. She went on to do collaborations with some of the industries top producers at the time, and made it her personal goal to stay at the top of the charts. During the 80's many considered her to be one of the originators of freestyle-pop music and brought the type of music into the mainstream circle along with the likes of Stevie B. and company.
